Currently trying some Cerafines (initially sounding very controlled), but doing some surfing, found a lot of references to tantalum caps.
Are these worth a try? Any difference or preference for bead or axial types? How might they compare sonically?

I always thought they were awful and not recommended, but maybe something has changed . I have some old ones in a box upstairs, but not values suitable for cathode by-pass caps, so have never tried them .

I heard this too and haven't used tantalums in many years (since I stopped using transistors). Perhaps its time that someone did some experiments.
Philosophers have only interpreted the world - the point, however, is to change it. No it isn't ... maybe we should leave it alone for a while.
