How about using a gland instead?

Hi Nick-i had not thought of that !

Looking on the Rapid site i cant see anything small enough.

What i have done in the past is to use a normal grommet and counterbore each side of the material so the grommet sits flush both sides.

It is a lot more work but it looks neat.

Ah, well, you see your original specification of requirements didn't place any restriction on size. :-)

Another simple solution is to cut your grommet in half and superglue a piece onto each side of the hole. The material in between is unlikely to damage the cable.
Tried and tested by me. :)

There are only a few things left in Maplins that are worth considering. I use all sizes of their grommets and few of their galnds too.

Hi-thanks for the tips !

I inherited an RS box of grommits when my brother died and i have gone back to my way of countersinking both sides of the alloyuminium.
