Re: Nothing In Particular

My internal POTS phones are now plugged into the BT Modem instead of the filter if that's what you mean. But I suspect you mean a third party SIP's provider. Indeed - can't use a BT SmartHub and BT only offer DigitalVoice which is proprietary and must be used with a BT SMartHub2 as the modem/router...

Re: Building the uTracer

I have a memory somewhere that Jack (Nick) wrote a QT interface for the utracer, but I may be hallucinating. Not me... However this is what you're after: https://bmamps.com/v01/home/techie-corner/utracer-utmax/ Nick Barton (yes, yet another Nick) is really clever and the quality of his work is exce...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

This bicycle, called the "RELATIVITY Special", if pedaled at 90 rpm, is designed to travel faster than the speed of light. This is proven by a description of the gear ratios on the sheets seen on the wall behind it. One revolution of the pedals sends the bike 6 times around the earth. (It ...

Car exhaust device Renault Forums.jpg To be fair, this is just an application of the Venturi effect. Thanks Nick, but can't help feeling there must be better ways. Hence the joke. Good grief ... It's cute, but actually quite clever. Personally, I would class it as a curiosity rather tha...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Also you can generated a hex IP address that looks like a four part DNS name. De.ad.be.ef Ah! 0xDEADBEEF - the absolute favourite for poisoning stacks and pool memory... used it loads of times... an alternative to 0xBADCAFE. Here's an example I wrote about 10 years ago for stack checking on MSP430s...

Re: What Are You Listening To Right This Minute?

Recently been listening to a bit of Gabriella Laberge. The first video below is not the best recording - a bit sharp for me - but her delivery & interpretation is great (IMHO). The second is from 7 years ago, but I still love it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBVrJpC0D7w https://www.youtube.co...

I'll report on 1.1 in the next few days hopefully.

LibrePCB has direct links to PCBWay amongst others - they are a sponsor of the project.

Re: Free schematic/board tools...

LibrePCB 1.1.0 was released on 3rd April and is looking like a HUGE improvement. Massive improvements, including Eagle whole project import and many other goodies. https://librepcb.org/blog/2024-04-03_release_1.1.0/ https://librepcb.org/download/ The beta 64-bit version uses Qt6 and is definitely th...

Re: what are you doing ?

if you try to play back recordings, are they easily audible? With the mic I used (which has now packed up) they were recorded at such a low level they were virtually inaudible, although it seemed to be able to make identifications ok. I was using one of these with the same Ugreen sound card: https:...
