I believe it needs very sensitive kit to reveal any sort of distortion differences in cables, and the effects are tiny . It still seems a mysterious issue, same as capacitors - most of which test amazingly well, but the differences are plain to hear if you are familar with your system . This is why ...

what about the higher harmonics that alter the lower frequency's , i know most people cant hear above 15k but lets say i wind a transformer that rolls off at 15k and then i also wind one that rolls off at 70k no matter how good or bad your ears are you will be able to hear it I think this certainly...

I would agree with Paul too, but there is one odd ( related ) comment I'm aware of - in his article about the 'Katelelo' 300B amp , Ciro Marzio complains that one of the new manufacturers of premium 300B's had got pin 1 and pin 4 the wrong way round - which he described as 'an elementary mistake' . ...
