IIRC both SB3 and SBR can handle 24/48 max in native form. If you use SC 7.3 or above then the server client will resample appropriately for any given Slim device. Chris :) Ah, thanks Chris. I think I am using 7.3 so I should be able to record 24/192 and maybe take advantage of the extra in the fut...

Mmmm, I'm rather tempted by an EMU; I've been meaning to convert my vinyl for a while now. I think it comes with a range of software - presumably something suitable for recording? There are a number of CD's bundled in the box - the only one I was interested in was the disc with the driver. I alread...

Any particular reason why you rip stuff to MP3 ? FLAC would be better, and is becoming pretty well accepted as the compression method to use. Yes. I've never heard of FLAC :D Now I'm enlightened I shall look into it. Damn, hope I don't have to startconverting all those CD's over again :banghead: I ...

I deleted all my mp3's, probably around 1400 albums, and have started conversion again. That was in August and I'm currently up to 'H'. There was possibly nothing wrong with the old mp3 files, probably just a corrupted operating system. Bugger. Oh well, live and learn... Perhaps I shall give EAC an...

A very distorted rendition of Greensleeves used to be quite commonly heard.

Hi Greg The connections at the back are very simple - they're 1/4 inch mono jacks, as the device is aimed at the home recording musician. I use some home made I/C cables terminated in pseudo balanced mode. I take output L/R from phono stage into input L/R of the EMU. I then take output L/R from the ...

Hi Greg

If you think you might possibly end up doing the odd vinyl transcription or two then you might want to consider this piece of kit http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/1 ... 2-usb.html
I've been using one for a while and can't fault its' performance.

Greg wrote:Is WAV and MP3 compatable with iPod?
Simple answer is yes. WAV takes up much more space than MP3, so the latter would be preferable for use on the iPod.

After my initial alarm about Phil's vibrational response, I actually think he's on the right path.

Something that vibrates at say, 50 hz (thinking of Garrard motors here).

Hi Ali I have my music organised into artist folders, with each album a seperate sub-folder. I would suggest that you set up EAC to insert a track number before track titles, as that widens the range of media players you can use and still get tracks to play in order. Mp3tag is also a very useful fre...

That I do Colin, that I do.

On the aesthetic front, they look better in the flesh than on the photos, but I am with the general consensus - I look forward to seeing Mk II.
