Hi Colin, Lovely professional build. Well done. I'm looking forward to the final pics when the whole chassis is stuffed and I really hope you don't have any issues with hum etc. If you do I hope that'll be easily sorted. Frankly, this design visually deserves to suceed aurally. Your outcome could ea...

Hi Andrew, I concur with your findings. Signal should follow the writing on the cover. Sounds best to me. Don't understand it but if it works, I accept. Much better to save the mumbo-jumbo for something really important like a RA power supply product. It just might make the difference  Best wi...

Hi Steve, if you like the mounting convenience of veroboard but reject it for other reasons, have you thought about using matrix board. Same as vero but no conducting strips. Yo use the lead outs from the components to form a hard wired construction. I've done this with my Pre II and other small pro...

Hi Darren,

Glad you're onto it. At the other place, Peter now runs a system whereby new applicants have to verify their interest by email before being appointed membership so there is a degree of vetting. Something like it might be helpful here.

Best wishes,

Greg

Nick/Darren,

Take a good look at the last four joining members. We could be vulnerable to a porn attack!

Not wanting to gloat, but that is my home experience anyway, even with a 300B PP clone kit amp coupled to KLS3's. It's this kind of thing that now makes me very jaundiced about eggfests etc. At home the system sounds very good and properly extended right down to feeling the low frequency's we don't ...

Hi Ed,

Yes, clever but it is a brain function thing. Try it on you left foot and left hand as well. Same effect. Left foot and right hand doesn't do it as does not right foot and left hand. Great fun though particularly for the uninitiated.

Best wishes,

Greg

Near enough, Paul but the word is actually spelt Thong. With all this demand, I just don't know how you manage to keep it up

Hi Paul, All I know is JoNo originally described them to me as Martin King designed MLTQWT's. I agree with what you say. They're a bit like an upside down version of Scott's from Owstfest. In use I found them fast and well balanced with no obvious humps across the range although bass was too light f...

Hi Andrew, I consulted the makers of Dynamicap on this previously. Result was predictably inconclusive. They did not tell me which lead out was the inner/outer foil but simply said their preference was for signal to follow the direction of the printing on the casing. However, if you prefer the sound...

I completely agree with all that is written above. Nothing we have done at these events has allowed the replication of the quality we all hear from our systems at home and I have no doubt that a well set up SE system in a home listening room might well cope and properly deliver the sound of the danc...

I got the irony from the beginning seeing as Nick responded elsewhere to something I posted about a piece of music that was a good test of a systems competence and versatility...... or not. I thought it a bit unfair. Certainly it 'takes all sorts' and I assess my system not just based on some sounds...

Hi Clive,

A quality description of what you did to WAD PSU II would be very welcome, complete with diagragm if you can push it that far. I've already changed my PSU II line level to 250V output for cathode follower as per the WD FAQ. Would this do or should I tweak further?

Best wishes,

Greg
