Hi Mike,
I did wonder about a ground lift resistor, but tried it yet as it was silent before. Also there are grid stoppers on both the C3G's and the E180F's.
Cheers
Ian

Re: PSU umbilical hum
Hi Nick, I am not sure if my aged scope is up to the job. I think you might be onto something with the RF as sometimes after about 30 minutes it just disappears. If it is RF what sort of ferrite beads do I need? I have some tiny ones which could probably go over the HT+. Would these do any good or d...

PSU umbilical hum
Hi I have built a phonostage that during development behaved beautifully. Having boxed it up I am getting a problem with hum. The layout has Salas HT regulators in the same box as the actual phonostage and the the HT and heater PSU's are housed separately. What is odd is that if I grip the HT umbili...

I have done some reading round on the BBB based on Ray’s comments and I think the main thing that puts me off at the moment is the BBB apparent fragility. I was aware that it can be damaged by inadvertent powering down of the board. However, reading the notes on the Botic linux distro it says that t...

Some really interesting stuff. I didn't know there were so many different players available, I will have to try some of them at some point. Currently I just use Volumio with a UPnP music server (Asset on another raspberry pi, or minimserver also on a raspberry pi). The kids sometimes use the airplay...

Hi Neal, I would be interested to hear about the bugs. I had read that Volumio for the pi2 did have more issues than the older software for the pi B. Have you tried Rune Audio, that might be better for your needs. I have to say I have only used the radio streams (as presented by Volumio) a few times...

I am going senile as well as I didn't notice that your previous post said that it works!! Any way, great news. How long are your wires feeding the I2S signals? Mine are about 30mm, apparently it pays to keep them as short as possible. I will be very interested to hear your impression of the sound qu...

Right, just got home and checked the web interface. If I look at the playback option I have audio output set as: sndrpihifiberry So try the hifiberry options in the I2S options on the systems tab. Hope that helps. When you have connected the BCK, LRCK and data, you have also connected the Gnd? If no...

Hi, I did all my configuration using a rapberry pi B+ and the details of the pins are shown in the lik below: https://volumio.org/forum/hifiberry-and-rpi-dac-pinout-t29.html If you scroll down you will see a picture or the P5 header identifying which pin does what. Hi Ray, That's a fantastic looking player. I am interested to know what the advantages of the Beaglebone black are over other Linux boards such as the Pi? Also have you ever tried the system without the reclocker, do you know how much contribution the board makes to the sonics? I will upload some pi...

I haven't posted on this for ages but for those that are interested, I learn't a couple of interesting things about getting better performance: 1. I improved the speed of access and play by over-clocking the RPi. I guess this was fairly obvious, however, worth mentioning. 2. When I initially set up ...
