Oh, yes, I would never expect the 6em7 to compete at being a 30w push pull amp, with a 30w push pull amp :-), That made me giggle, dunno if its supposed but it did  I've got a (short 1.5Mb) video of the duff 6EM7's being pushed a bit too hard, do they normally arc along with the kick drum in m...

Great. Yes, the 6em7 is a hell of a valve, in a way its a hard act to follow. Not bad for something made for use inside a TV :-) Cor yeah, innit just. More full-on testing this afternoon. Swapping between WD88 and 6EM7, it's close, REALLY REALLY close but i've got to be honest in that WD88 has the ...

The big problem we had on the bench was the pentode was prone to RF instability, so Dave, make sure you have some grid stoppers (I used 150R carbon 0.25W) right up against the g1 and g2 pins. I've made a note of that, thanks for the heads up Nick. So the upshot of this Dave, is yes the idea works, ...

Dave, I think you'll like the amp. With Nick's nice OBs it got right to the heart of the music. I have a few 0A2s as I stocked up wondering if I was killing them when the amp wasn't well. I've more than I'll probably ever use so you're welcome to a couple. Simon. Glad you both got the amp working l...

 Agree with Darren, I listened to Nick and Andrew chatting the night before WF 07 about SET's, Phono pre's and Cartridge loading and understood about 4 words in the entire conversation.

"Dave get beer now!"...I think that was the gist of it...
