Thanks Ray, I will investigate your solution, can you explain what the UPnP controller does. Sorry I am a total noob at this! About 30 mins ago I was poking round the Volumio gui and in settings found that there was an option to switch on UPnP indexing. When I switched it on and tried to connect to ...

Asset UPnP dBpoweramp
Hi All, I downloaded the raspberry pi version of dBpoweramps asset UPnP and after a bit of a battle (Raspbian wheezy didn't initially like my ntfs hard drive) I managed to the software to work. Using my windows 8 PC I can see "Asset UPnP:raspberrpi" on my network and when I right click on ...

Hi Adrian, Thanks for letting me know, though unfortunately I am definitely looking for 10uf. I am in the process of collecting the parts to build a second TDA1541A DAC and the oscons are very highly rated for supply decoupling right on the +5, -% and -15V pins of the DAC chip as well as across the ...

Cheers
Ian

Hi Ray, I am still ploughing through the DIY audio thread. As ever there seem to be people suggesting that the FIFO board will introduce as many jitter problems as it solves and I am in absolutely no position to judge where the truth lies. As you may have seen on another computer thread I have got t...

I should also add that I re-downloaded Volumio 1.1 from the website and when I checked out the /etc/modules/ file the data is now correct and did not need to be edited. I simply downloaded the file unzipped it, flashed it to SD, configured the wireless network from the GUI and swithched on the I2S f...

I bit the bullet and purchased a knew pi. I checked the BCK, Data and LRCK. All the signals were present. So I plucked up my courage and soldered the wires and plugged into my TDA1541A and to my absolute delight it works! I have all the web radio stations and on initial listening sounds pretty good....

I finally got the scope connected upto my RPI to see if I could diagnose my I2S issues. The BCK pin emits a constant clock output, which I assue is correct. The data out appears only when a track is played, which again seems fine. However, there is no sign of LRCK at any time. Which I imagine is the...

Hi, This is the I2S solution that I have been trying to get to work on my Raspberry Pi for about a month. The DAC is a TDA1541a (I don't have the hifiBerry board) and whatever I try it does not work. I have tried all the different versions of Volumio as 1.1 definitely has a bug. I also read how to c...

I use Foobar to create FLAC copies of CD's. What I am looking for is a program that I can download onto the pi to use it as a music player. In particular I need it to work with Raspbian as Raspbian apparently has the facility to put audio out as I2S for an external DAC. I have read about people usin...

I just realised that if you run an update of Raspbian operating system it is possible to use I2S. You just need to enable the modules (which I have done). When this is done the Hifiberry DAC is listed which works through I2S and I understand that a TDA1541a should also work in the same way. So far s...
