Andrew, sorry I didn't pick up on your post before. I think I will stay with your regulated power supply. You have put a lot of effort, time and sweat into it. I could always build a version based on what Steven suggests at a later date for comparison, if I feel the urge. I'll be putting an order to...

Hi guys, t'was a good afternoon and evening, I enjoyed it a lot. Paul, glad you had a easy journey home. Your 300b monoblocs are really very nice indeed and the cases look superb. You should post some piccies of them to give us all inspiration on how one can achieve a great copper finished chassis. ...

Hi Andrew, I followed most of that. Your efforts are most appreciated. I shall start to order all the components for the phono probably next week. If some of the component values change as a result your findings no problem so don't feel you have to rush anything on my behalf. Have a good hogmanay (o...

Hi Nick, If you want to do the comparison, I could always bring the fostex's on their own. Yes good idea. I hope Kaye recovers soon from the flu. Been there and done that earlier in the month. I'll bring the upgraded Fostex's next time I'm over your place or at the Yorkshire meet in Feb. if your int...

OK I thought I would just get confirmation whether people are still interesting in coming over my place on Saturday. Just need to sort out catering and drinks. I have my new Fostex MLTL speakers, my Electrostatics and GM70 monoblocs. Stratmangler (Chris) has phoned me to say he is now coming over an...

The best place I've found for hardwoods is Boddington's Timber in North Yorkshire. Just about every type of timber you can want in thickness from 1in upwards. I buy most my Oak (European and American) and Maple wood from them. Simon, Sorry the confusion. However, I was wrong the 6EM7 tubes I bought ...

Hi Simon, thanks for offer the 'loan 6EM7s'. I have however, bought a matched set of 4-Raytheon 6EM7 the other month from epay. So if these are a different brand make it would be interesting to compare. As I'll be coming over your place in Feb hang on to them until then. Pity you cannot make it Sat ...

I finally managed to get the second speaker finished early last night and hooked them up for a listen. Being very sensitive speakers in comparison my statics they were not too happy through my gm70 amps with too much TX hiss that was quite audible. These MLTL speakers really need a quiet amp. I foun...

well Andrew, you know they say big is beautiful! I'll be happy if the final box is the same size one my gm70 amps or a little smaller. I am quite prepared to buy new torroids for the breadboard phono. They aren't that expensive. I think the ones for the buffer were £11.80 each and 6v + 6v 50Va. I al...
