Re: Isolating Transformer

I use a basic Airlinks 2Kv isolation transformer. All my audio kit is fed through it. I found at certain times of day, particularly between 4 and 8pm, I frequently found the Airlinks was buzzing. I added on of Nick’s DC blocker boards and the Airlinks has not, to my knowledge, buzzed since. Where c...

Re: Fane 12-250TC Retro Speaker.

Not too bad in all fairness.... no taller or deeper than a regular floorstander... just about 3 times wider.....

Sounds like a nice project. May have a go at building some myself...

Thanks Steve and good luck with the build Ant.

Knowing him, he will probably have one of his "experts" convert it into a "cool" chandelier or coat-stand and throw the driver in the bin.....

Don't think there is a day goes by without my Linux install needing updates... seems a lot more frequent than the Windows 10 OS I run on the other laptop.

Re: Streaming advice needed.

I use a BlueSound Node2. Does all the work, connects to any network share or USB drive and also streams Tidal and many others in FLAC and Masters quality. The DAC in it is very nice too. All in one box controlled by an app on your phone or tablet or PC. I love mine. I have full membership for Tidal ...

Re: Spotify & Squeezebox

That's great Chris. I'm glad you've found a solution to your Spotify woes. That's certainly a sterling effort by the developers in quick time. Personally, I just found the whole SB/LMS thing clunky, slow, dated and prone to hanging, buffering and crashing. I was using it on a Netgear NAS (Sparc) to ...

Re: Spotify & Squeezebox

I gave up on Squeezebox due to lack of support and development. I use TIDAL and although the SB plug in sort of worked OK it was sporadic to say the least, so I have binned all of my SB products and moved to a Bluesound Node 2. What a difference. So very quick, slick and powerful and the built in DA...

Nice. We go quite often and are always looking for works for our walls. I will pop in and have a look next time we're over there. Cheers. :D
