Yes,I commented on this to Nick the last time he was round with his 211 amp.The Chinese 813 did have noticeably deeper bass, but Nick's 211's bass was easily more articulate. As he put it at the time,"The 813 is all top and bottom, but not a lot inbetween" I see his point, though I do like the...

Yes,basically both live and neutral from the trannie need to be fused in some way,in the same way you would protect the live in a normal installation, and as Nick says, breaker for the feed to the trannie.Again as Nick says, your electrickery merchant will advise the best way to go.Be interested to see...

Yes Ian,very sensible suggestion by Nick there. If you do go ahead with this, just be sure you are aware of all the possible consequences. There can be some serious safety issues with this.

Slate Age Ltd.

Saw this elsewhere and thought it would be of interest.Biggish company that makes stuff like granite worktops, but will work with any material including slate.I've been reading about a guy who is having some slate speaker cabinets made. They have also made at least a couple of 301/401 plinths. They're ...

You were! Cheers chaps.Only trouble with it now is it sounds pants on the Acorns coz the caps need to run in I think.Running the amp direct sounds much better. The Acorns seem to like the 813 too,so this direct coupled jobbie should be the business!

Agreed.Mine went despite being changed at the recommended interval in my Alfa Romeo.Cost me over a grand. :( On the up side, that was the only thing that ever went wrong with it in 220,000 miles. Not bad.

Got it sorted finally.Obvious in retrospect, given the voltage at the bottom of R3.That end was not connecting to the 0v track on the bottom of the pcb.Re-soldered and hey presto all voltages in spec. :D Ta for help chaps.
