Re: RTZ SDM (DSD) DAC
I don't know where this evening has gone! I prefer the JLSounds USB board to the Amanero but it would complicate matters with connections to the PCM2DSD module. I made some interface boards to hook a JLSounds board to a ValveDAC that I bult for a friend (Marcel's designs use the Amanero pattern head...

Re: RTZ SDM (DSD) DAC
Nice job Ray Tony's kindly sent me one to try out , it's been a while since I've done any diy but have built a few different dacs over the years . My preference has been a modified AYA2 I've been using for 16 years so looking forward to properly comparing the RTZ . I can only listen to DSD files at...

Re: Pass Sony VFET Project
A quick re-arrangement of the system and I'm in business with the Valve DAC as the source. Big step up, delightful music.
And earlier this morning, I designed a front panel in Fusion 360 and ordered it to be 3D printed - I'm giving JLC's new service a try.

Re: Pass Sony VFET Project
I've been listening to my VFET project this afternoon and it is already making exquisite music - I say already simply because there is definitely more to come as I'm only using a Samsung phone as the source and my Noir HPA to drive it. The VFET is a follower with no voltage gain. I listened initiall...

Re: General health matters.
Went to an appointment at my health centre today in response to a text I had recieved inviting me for an annual check-up - I just assumed it was the result of becoming eligible for my state pension. The opening sentence from the the medic was "we've called you in to check how your heart conditi...

Re: Pass Sony VFET Project
Almost there! I've been doing the internal hook-up wiring today and have done some initial checks/adjustments/tests - voltages are what they should be! I just have to hook up the input phono sockets now before I can finish checking and, hopefully, listen to some music - sadly that will have to wait ...
