Is the only ground connection to the outside world just the outer of the phono sockets on this example of the amp? I ask because the fabulous exploding cole phono stage was wired in such a way that there was no connection from the phono stage to the box with the mains tx in it via the connwcting cab...

Been into the office today which means my weekly trip to the record shop. Got my walk from the office to there down to 10 minutes by finding a little shortcut out of the business park, that means i dont have to navigate all the way round. Gives me a couple if minutes more browsing time :D Todays bla...

They look like they are already insulated to me, so is the earth floating inside the amp?

Also appears to be a bit of a busbar cut off so where did that go originally?

No way for me to get down there! Id like to go at some point though I did want to try a solid state headphone amp, so before christmas i bought a musical fidelity hpap. Turned up in good time, looked fine, plugged it in and it immediately went bang. That was disappointing. So that has now got to go ...

I think ill give the sundaras a further look, there seems to be some reasonable discounts available at the moment. Or i could go abit more upmarket and keep an eye on some second hand quad era 1 planars. And have a good think on how to distribute all these bloody turntables. Theres no point thinking...

Sitting here contemplating where i go from here 'hifi wise'.
