Re: Nothing In Particular

Towards the end of Autumn 2023 I had intended to replace both front suspension struts on the CRV, but the parts got lost in transit, and by the time they got to me Winter had started. So, yesterday afternoon (RH side), and today afternoon (LH side) I have actually completed the job. I had problems o...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Mum was allocated a home to recuperate after hospital, and the 4 week placement runs out on 14th May.

I'd like her to stay where she is, but they have no vacancies. :(

So now I need to find somewhere nice for her.

Seems the average cost is circa £1,500 per week.

Have you still got the drill press you had of me?
Yes indeed, it's in my conservatory. Most useful piece of equipment.

I was on my way home from seeing Mum and did a short diversion to see your old gaff. :)

One for Mike.

I drove past Aurora tonight. Looks like they spent a lot of money doing it up, it's even got an upstairs now !

Re: Hi from Germany!

When I built my own turntable (using parts from a Logic DM101) I used a video motor off Ebay mounted in a nylon bush in a 2.5 diesel Iveco connecting rod with 3 rubber buffers. 2 big end end and 1 small end end. The power supply for the motor was from our Nick which he generously donated to the proj...

I'm spending this week attending an indoor bowls championship in Lincoln, and am billeted at the Poachers inn at Metheringham.

We have a nice mews type flat with two bedrooms behind the pub.

She's lovely.

Omeprazole to be accurate. I did stop taking them a year or so ago, and they were removed from my prescription, but I still have enough left for 4 weeks @ 2 per day.

Re: General health matters.

I went to see my doctor this afternoon, got an face to face appointment within two hours of ringing up.

She's changed one of my BP medications and reinstated an "acid" pill for one month.

So, should be right as rain in a day or so. :D

Re: Nothing In Particular

Know what you mean. My mum was in and out of various facilities, including hospital, ended up in a care home via Whitmore Way, which would be northeast of Basildon town centre. Aha, I remember Whitmore way. In my youth I spent mucho wonga in Nelson and Ford motorbike shop. It later was called Chuck...

Re: General health matters.

Tis sad.

We just heard that the lady in our village who supplies us eggs died yesterday. Only in her 50s.

And an old boy just round the corner is on his last legs.

Depends on her progress, but going back to her home is but a remote possibility, sad to say. :(
