Re: A little light humour
How come “off my chest” and “off my tits” don’t mean anything like each other?

Re: General Raspberry Pi stuff
No, nothing changed, and no other DHCP server. Nothing new in the house too The other Raspberry Pi seems fine, for now - may have a different version of OS though Exactly as per the reddit thread - fine for years, then it would be fine during the day and lose its connection overnight, except mine is...

Re: General Raspberry Pi stuff
No, just DHCP
Fixed the IP address rather than using the router to always give it the same one. No idea why it drops the connection when using DHCP, and no idea why it ran fine with DHCP for three years either

Re: General Raspberry Pi stuff
Don't know if this has been covered or not, but just came back from holiday and the heating is not working I have been running our storage heaters from a Raspberry Pi for a few years now, and suddenly it is losing its network (wifi) connection overnight Found this and giving it a go. Will update if ...

Re: Hooking up Subwoofer with Class D amplifier
I would say, just try it. If it hums, you know that there is a ground loop to deal with. If not - proceed to the enjoyment stage. I agree ground loops are a likely cause, but hooking a load of Class II equipment together with single-ended interconnects can be a humming nightmare without any ground ...

Looking good
Looking forward to the measurements too - want to know if the reflector idea could help my salad bowls. Not sure if 1cm is too small to have any effect at audio frequencies, but will wait and see

While brakes might theoretically be able to stop the car when cold, the engine doesn't fade like brakes can, so I guess that if it does happen to you, press the brake pedal hard to stop - don't try to just slow down

Re: Salad Bowl Speakers
With the IKEA ones, I couldn’t glue them together because of whatever they were coated with. I taped a sheet of sandpaper to the floor and put the bowls upside down on it then rubbed them until I had a flat on the rim. Glued easily with pva then Don’t know what the Wiko bowls are coated with, but I ...

Re: Salad Bowl Speakers
Ray, what about something like this: https://ikeahackers.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/spherical-ball-speaker-diy.png If I was still making speaker I might be tempted to build a similar pair. 8) I have wondered about those, but the centre to centre distance looks too big to me. Wonder if they coul...
