thanks for that Nick, I hadn't come across him before. There is some mention of him doing something with Tanita Tikaram on wiki. Not sure if it was a tour or whether they collaborated. I liked her back in the day...

I've been updating and downsizing so my beloved echo layla has got to go and is free to anybody who would like it.
It's a prosumer studio grade digital interface with 10 in, 10 out, midi in and out, word clock and spdif in and out.
down side: it needs a pci slot(original type) and the phantom power ...

I have a Grandstream HT801 as a trial with Voipfone at the moment using our existing analog Panasonic DECT phones and will switch to a full VoIP system sometime in the next few months (not too many shocks to the system at the same time for SWMBO).

Mine is a panasonic dect which I was glad to keep because we have 3 satellites. the grandstream is also ht801 and I cant justify changing it because it's been seamless.

The only thing I keep tripping up on is that it needs the std code for local calls....I'm sure I'll get astride that in time.

Anyone here switched from POTS (copper) home phone to VoIP and kept their old number?


I kicked karoo(kcom) out in march which meant losing the karoo phone. The new ISP allowed me to keep my router so I bought a grandstream voip interface and plugged the existing panasonic digiphones into it ...
