Re: Hobbymat MD65 lathe tweaks

Mine had the headstock bearings replaced before i got it, had the reciept from essel for the work in with the paperwork. It has a whacking great singer sewing machine handwheel grafted onto the leadscrew in place of the little standard one which i find pretty handy. I run a 4 jaw on it all the time,...

Re: 6.3v indirectly heater valve PCB (possible group buy?)

The cole has the tx in a separate box and everything else in the main box, that has the ht, a 6.3v for the rectifier and a 10v for the dc heaters for the signal valves, plus the main earth connection in the umbilical. There might be something else in there, i cant remember. Seems to work ok. The cab...

Re: C3g Aikido Phono

Ive usually used similar cliffcon connectors for umbilicals, i might have a couple of multipin ones somewhere if they are any good
Edit:

I have an unused 7 pin plug and socket if thats any good, same as the one in the link

Well that was short lived, not even a full track until everyone else conspired to make it impossible to listen to anything.

Re: what are you doing ?

Sat on my backside with a bit of music on, doing very little. Waiting on an offer we put in for a house and negotiating with the solicitor for the estate is somewhat taxing, and work is very hectic of late. Emma is climbing the walls, pacing like a caged tiger, she doesnt deal with this sort of stre...

Re: WTB - Turntable

Id be looking at aomething like a project debut and a nad 3020 et al. Something like that. Later Nad amps with a phono stage built in like the c340 from the 90s are pretty nice to listen to and no faffing with separate boxes. 3020 is pretty expensive these days but the later 90s 2000s ones are dirt ...

Re: Oracle Delphi mk1 Quick Restoration

Well colour me surprised. Those damping thingys have actually made quite a difference, and one that i think is for the better. Tighter pretty much top to bottom, more noticable in the top end which is just clearer. They need a tweak, currently there are 3 turns on each which equates to 3mm depth of ...

Re: Oracle Delphi mk1 Quick Restoration

Got some 100cs silicone fluid finally, ive put the damping pots in place and filled them, shall see what difference the oracle chassis damping system makes later. As mentioned at some point earlier in this thread, it isnt an official oracle one, its a copy made by vic iirc for the previous owner at ...

Re: Oracle Delphi mk1 Quick Restoration

Over the course of a few weeks in intermittent fits and starts, I've done some modifications to the arm. First was the lengthening of the slot in the cartridge stub, which was not as bad as I thought it would be. I did have to remove the wiring which was a pain in the backside. I also put a couple o...
