Re: Nothing In Particular
Sorry about your situation Paul.
My mother was 10 when the the Crystal Palace burned, they could see it from their house, it lit up the sky.
It's been asked since how was that possible as it was made of cast iron and glass, ah but the interiors were timber. Lots of timber beams.

Possibly, I didn't try a grid stopper, at that time I hadn't heard of such things yet.

Re: New SE With Triode Mode KT120/150
Wow Paul, sorry about your problems. :( @ Steve C - at risk of attracting criticism, :D be aware EF80 is an IF pentode, popular for FM tuners and suchlike, as such tends to want to oscillate at RF given the slightest chance - guess how I know. :D I remember once trying to plot the curves of one, jus...

Re: My Niece's First Vinyl System
I have a TD160, I also did similar to what Greg said (there's a topic around here somewhere all about it). I also put a Rega arm on it - the stock arm is not terrible, but struggles a bit with low a VTF cartridge (seems to be because of a tad too much bearing friction(?)). I used self-adhesive in-ca...

Re: 6.3v indirectly heater valve PCB (possible group buy?)
Moving the HT and heater transformers to a separate box would make a big difference to the space available. But it just doesn't feel right having the rectifiers so far from the transformers. I have done this, and it worked OK - this would be 'Aurora 7', 801A SET, it's been to Owston a few times. :D...
