Re: Nothing In Particular

This reminds me of the time when a colleague went to Bovington, parked the hire car in the chevroned area, which said “ no parking tanks in operation” for a few minutes To find returning to the car to find it had been flattened by a chieftain reversing. Took ages to get a replacement hire car to get...

Re: Owston meet 27+28 Nov 21-add your name here

Steves crackers horns were lovely. Dunno what else to say about them, for a lash up without its normal bottom end support, it was lovely Whether the “crackers” was a reference to the horns or the maker, is a compliment I take either way. As Steve S said they were excelling in the male vocals, but n...

Re: Proposed anti tamper legislation for vehicles.

If common sense were to prevail then no, putting more suitable tyres on you car isn’t a modification. My car has a section on the console where you can tell it what winter tyres you have, assume to adjust the torque curve accordingly. However bureaucracy may win out, sacrifice a few special cases fo...

Re: Proposed anti tamper legislation for vehicles.

Tyres are always a minefield. In Europe most German cars are supplied with steel rims and the most economical tyres, to obviously meet efficiency noise regs. The U.K market is different they have to have heavy alloys and wide tyres to appeal ( sales gimmicks- that 99% of end users don’t need). So fo...

Re: The Audio-Talk Motorcycling thread.

On a positive note - engines running without the right exhaust generally run lean, so get hot and ultimately knacker the engine, then they are quite :) . A guy I know has a couple of Brough’s - with noisy exhausts, but to keep them to original spec has straight pipes. On a modern bikes no excuse- ev...

Re: Owston ‘21: What Are You Bringing?

Just finished the bass section for next weekend. Will have to see how it measures this evening. Only done one, so it will have to be mono upto 400hz. 275383A7-DB13-4EDD-99F0-25D5136F5D49.jpeg I need a source for next weekend. If anyone has an digital input with i2s output that would be appreciated, ...

Just back from a civilised affair, watching James Beckwith at a Jazz club in Nottingham, first live music in 2 years almost. Quite a tight group, enjoyable even though “safe” Jazz has never been my thing.

Re: Sars-Cov-2 stuff

Went to see my consultant today - chatting about the Covid situation afterwards, he’s a broken man, he has lost faith in human kind. Over the weekend a family of 5 were admitted with Covid, none of them vaccinated, one had had it before, so they thought they were immune and didn’t need to bother. On...

Re: Owston meet 27+28 Nov 21-add your name here

Just to confirm, Dave and I will only be coming on the Saturday. Don’t think I will be bringing anything big to audition, as being off my feet for the last week or so has scuppered my plans... if I do bring something is somebody bringing a digital player with I2S output that I could use as a source?
