Re: Moving house and the room
I remember them, from the early 1990’s, - friend had them with creek amp, good with rock music, my gales at the time were better. For transmission line speakers, the IPL ones IMHO are better than the TDL ones, as they use more modern drivers, and in the kit form are reasonably priced second hand.

Re: MEH speaker project
Thanks for you suggestions, the drivers need a lower Fs - Blue Aran, have a number of options, it’s interesting that for a PA 6.5” midrange, there is such variation in basket design/interfaces etc.

MEH speaker project
This is a multi entry horn speaker not a “meh” speaker that lack enthusiasm or authority ( Oxford dictionary) hopefully.
I have had a test horn 3D printed in segments, and glued them together, for those with keen eyes the ports for the midrange aren’t symmetrical, an error on my half with the ...

Re: Something Stirs in the Workshop
Finished sanding the speakers, after using a roundover router bit, that was really too big for hand use. Wrapped these up this morning, for hand over to Ian at Cranage tomorrow..

Re: Something Stirs in the Workshop
I haven’t been, doing anything to improve my set up. However I have been slowly working on a pair of “Helios” speaker cabinets for Ian. Due to the poor cosmetic appearance of the birch ply, Ian had, for these cabinets I decided to make the cabinets in a laminated construction, using 25mm wide strips ...

Re: Nothing In Particular
I need some advice from people with knowledge. I need to replace an electric motor on one of my woodworking machines, what’s up with it I haven’t time or the mental bandwidth to investigate- it’s Italian which maybe enough said. It is a “3hp” single phase motor, which on the name plate draws 13A at ...

Just for info…Quboz, is now available for phones etc. We can now get rid of Spotify, as SWMBO should be able to use it on her smart speakers.

Re: Owston 25 ?
Probably can do both dates…. Will check with Dave if he can go for the 27th as first preference. Not sure what we will bring, as haven’t built anything new for a while. Do have a MEH speaker, that maybe I can bump up the priority list.

Definitely willing to share costs. Compare it to a cinema ticket, where the quality of the entertainment arguably won't be as good, nor last as long.
Suppose I should start working on another Owston system.
Chris

Re: Nothing In Particular
Do humane traps….also apply to tree rats? As those and sky rats are the bane of my vegetable garden, everything was in balance when we had a local bird of prey….. which the local pigeon fancier either got rid of or scared off, those vermin are now taking over.

Re: Nothing In Particular
I used something called Mo bacter last year…. I was moss free in June last year….. it’s all back now. So did it really work? Apparently moss doesn’t like phosphates, which was the main agent in the natural approach of Mo bacter. I am trying to crowd it out with grass seed this year…. I have a 20kg ...
