Re: Nothing In Particular

Sorry to hear about your bad start to the day Ant - hopefully things can only get better for you.

Were the fish making a break for it?

I'll make a guess at Germany ... :?: A safe guess Mike, but wrong, they're both British. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a8/TOG_II.jpg/1280px-TOG_II.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOG2 https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b4/IWM-MH-9865-Tortoise.jpg https://en....

Of course!

There's even a song about it, and the band are even wearing tank tops.

Re: Nothing In Particular

Tank museum trivia time.

The two heaviest tanks at the museum weigh 78 and 80 tons - which country built them?

You'll not recognise it Mark, many of the exhibits didn't exist then!

Yes, and it has changed and improved a lot since I last visited - it used to be a big shed with rows of tanks but now it's got themed areas with lots more information and context.

Re: Nothing In Particular

I had a boys day out yesterday with a couple of colleagues - we're all of a similar age and degree of wrinkling. We went to the Tank Museum at Bovington;

Well worth a visit if you're down in this part of the world.

Re: 801a amplifier

No problem not remembering Paul, it's been a long time since we spent a few days at VSAC, yes it was in 2003 - we went with Clive and Scott neither of whom I've heard of/from for years. I was telling you about my exploration of DSD (or more correctly SDM) playback, which is now my preferred way of l...

Fair enough.

Dave, have you looked at the sample rate matrix in the JLSounds documentation? If you incorporated some logic you could arrange for an LED specific to the incoming data rate to be lit.

Re: Poundland 45

Apart fro the lovely sounds the Poundland 45 made through Ant's speakers the other thing that struck me was how small it is 'in the flesh' - I'm even more impressed than before that you've build it (and reworked it) in such a small space Steve.

Re: Millett LR + TP Opus + AMB α24 reboot

Paging RayP, Dave, I think your data/clock lines look OK. though I'll have another look tomorrow as I've been a bit short of time this evening and feeling a bit tired so don't want to trust myself. One thing to check out is the mute signal and whether the Opus DAC expects a mute signal that is hi o...

Re: Millett LR + TP Opus + AMB α24 reboot

Can't see any 100n caps decoupling each chip's Vcc/Vdd - well, there are no chips as such, but decoupling pins 1 & 2 of J1 would be a good plan. Crowbar (diode) between pins 1 & 2 of J1 as well, plus possible tiny power LEDs for both usb & iso sides. No need for decoupling Nick, that'll...

Re: Owston meet 27+28 Nov 21-add your name here

Nick, a question about your Quasars - were the tweeters that were screwed to/dangling from the baffles in use? I didn't get close enough to check while they were playing and didn't look when they weren't! BTW, these are the drive units that I mentioned to you - I've got a pair of the 8inch ones that...
