Re: Direct Drive turntable

Re: Direct Drive turntable
Always thought Kenwood/Trio were under-appreciated in this country. The SR222 was a brilliant budget deck, much nicer than the ubiquitous Pioneer PL12D. Let’s hope the KP9010 lives up to that.

Re: The Quackery Thread
I don’t know if you’ll all be able to see this as it’s a link to Facebook, but can anyone tell me what this bloke’s on about? I think I may once have smoked the same stuff he did…

Re: Nothing In Particular
Nor me, but we did have Yeovilton’s Swordfish, a Harvard and something else I didn’t have time to identify over us on Thursday. I’ve seen the Swordfish a few times over my son’s place two miles from Yeovilton, but I’ve not seen it down this way before.

I just had a look at the WD forum members list in order of greatest activity, and the vast majority of members who have contributed more than 300 posts are active on this forum as well, so I would assume would be more likely to communicate through here than through there, since most have moved on ...

Re: Nothing In Particular
It seems simple to me, but I’m a simple person.
Looking at the way we pronounce millimetre, centimetre, decimetre, kilogram, kilowatt etc, why would you not pronounce kilometre the same way?

Equally, those who pronounce kilometre to rhyme with speedometer should burn in the hottest corner of Hell.Morgan Jones wrote: Sun Apr 27, 2025 9:28 am I reserve particular ire for those who capitalise kilo.
Having said that, why do we pronounce speedometer that way?

Re: Nothing In Particular
You’re right. They never did an automatic version of the 2015-2020 H-RV. The current model however is a hybrid where the ic engine is only connected directly to the wheels at higher speeds. The rest of the time drive is provided by the electric motor and there is no gearbox as such. I drove a Jazz ...

Lord knows what I'd replace it with when the time comes.
Same story with my Civic. Bought it on 45k in 2018, last year it turned over 100k and the local garage reported the timing chain was getting a bit rattle. Not necessarily a cause for concern but when added to a couple of spurious engine ...
