No need to drop the coffee. Recent research shows that it’s very good for your gut.

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.

Love that thing. It exploits one of the virtues of electric cars that no one else seems to. It’s tiny!

Re: WD forum closing

I posted Nick(Jack)’s suggestion on WD. Matthew (site owner) likes the idea but, like myself, lacks the necessary computer skills to carry it out. Is there anyone who could help him sort it out?

Doesn’t mean a lot to me but I’ll pass it on and see if that helps.

Given the lady’s name and the nature of the quantity we’re trying to measure, shouldn’t the unit be Tatties rather than Varks?

Re: Nothing In Particular

Vacuum cleaners are brilliant for unwanted flying things (Crane flies are particularly satisfying) but I’ve not tried catching rodents yet. Don’t think my little battery vacuum would cope, and what do you do with a vole stuck in the pipe work?

I don’t have a cat, but I will recommend this to my ...

Re: General health matters.

Welcome to the world of little and often! Currently averaging three times per night, but strangely that doesn’t bother me. What I do find annoying is being unable to complete the drive from here to Somerton without stopping. We do it every Sunday to look after grandkids, returning on Tuesday night ...

Re: My Niece's First Vinyl System

This is where we were so lucky with the TT2. The first people we went to to produce the bearing cam back with something awful and made all sorts of simplifications, about a month later than we wanted it. The next was a two-man band working out of an old barn filled with lathes and milling machines ...

Re: My Niece's First Vinyl System

Also, if you took the arm leads directly to the preamp in the plinth that will have improved the isolation of the chassis. I did the same on my TT2 when I reworked the Mission 774. I took the internal arm leads right out to a terminal block on the plinth wired fully balanced with a separate earth ...

Re: My Niece's First Vinyl System

A wise decision, I think. I believe that it’s possible to re-inflate the tweeters but it sounds like a rather hit-and-miss process and I doubt that they’d last long.

If you like the idea of the Sextets, there are three pairs on eBay at the moment, all with ribbons. One pair is pretty close to you ...

Re: My Niece's First Vinyl System

Strangely, I’ve never heard them myself, but I do know they were one of Peter C’s favourite designs from Heybrook days so they must have a lot going for them. The reason I was wondering about the tweeter was because they were originally fitted with the sublime sounding Audax inflatable piezo tweeter ...
