Ditto, use Rod's suggestions.

For higher currents just keep an eye on the ripple current through that big cap. For GM70 Rod recommended a "choke" input, actually a 0.5R resistor. I was a bit sceptical this would act as a choke input rather than cap input but it did.

Rod's really helpful - if you don't have a specific raw DC recommendation from Rod, if you were to email him and let him know that you have acquired the SV811 amp with his filament regs but would like to try a passive supply rather than the SMPS I'm sure he'd advise.

I found his schematic for the raw Coleman DC supply and it happens that I have the right parts, so I guess I’ll build a copy, using my 9V 300VA twin secondary toroid as the AC source.

Well, the triple-decker frame is built: a copy of Izzy’s GM70 pp chassis building technique.
Might actually get something done now.

I've used a 'nest' of tables for a pair of 833 silliness.

Tom the dentist used many a medical trolley.

There is no way to do these valves booteek small so spread out - relax and enjoy.
Philosophers have only interpreted the world - the point, however, is to change it. No it isn't ... maybe we should leave it alone for a while.

Steve, if you need any parts for this ask on here. I've got a lot of things that in reality, I'm never going to use so I'd rather see them go to a good home.

All I really want to keep is anything particular to my 833a build.

Cheers Phil,

A bit more progress today. Have got the OPTs and valve sockets mounted on the top deck:
