No, I have two myself, somewhere, but it's good to know where to ask if anyone needs more.

Can't see any obvious reason other than the server is busier than normal

Got a drip from my hot water cylinder.
Only noticed it when I got wet socks as I walked past the airing cupboard.
Got a bucket underneath for the time being, the plumber is hoping to get round and have a look tomorrow.

I need a new hot water cylinder.
In the meantime I'm draining the cylinder and going to attempt a temporary repair with epoxy putty. The leak is where the thermostat rod sits in the immersion heater, so after the tank is drained I'll take the thermostat rod out and plug up the hole.
Might work.

Unless its corroded, why would it leak?
Is it possible that its the thermostat that’s letting water out?

The tube that the thermostat sits in should be dry, and it's not. So, hopefully, plugging the tube should enable me to get hot water until the new tank can be fitted which could be next week.
I use the oil fired boiler to heat the tank so the immersion heater thermostat is superfluous right now.

Can’t you just change the complete heating element? The thermostat sits into that, it’s not separate, I recently replaced my element because it had corroded.

Screwfix sell new elements complete with thermostat
Try unscrewing it 1st.. buy the spanner or use large stillsons don't put loads of leverage on it, tap the spanner with a light hammer whilst using moderate leverage. If it's really solid..you have to be careful.
If the solder cracks /leaks ( mine did) it's easily soldered up with plumbers solder and a moleskin pad.
Don't use that plumber again if he said it needs a new tank would be my advice
Before you replace add some grease to the thread and seal and ensure she flange is clean..
Plumbers son I was wiping lead joints at 15.

The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number
