Last weekend we caught a mouse in the humane trap, and I let it out up the road, about 300 yds away.

Got another one last night, so that will have to go a bit further away, incase it's the previous one returned.

Best bait seems to be anything chocolately.

When I was a mouse I steered clear of chocolate - spots, fat, rotting teeth - not sexy.

But I could never refuse a bit of bacon!

I doubt that Mr Mouse, unleashed 300 yards up the road, could survive the cats, the foxes, bears and pterodactils that still soar through Suffolk skies.

But Mr & Mrs Mouse do very little else than shag each other stupid - we breed with incontinent success.

It is rare indeed to just have one mouse!

Well, he (or she) certainly bounded when let free, it's a better fate than being crushed by a normal mousetrap.

I'll set up the two traps again tonight with a bit of Aldi imitation KitKat.

Talking of Aldi, Jean says the last few shops she's done seem a bit more expensive, but suppose we must feel fortunate to have any food at all.

Looks impressive ed.. does it play your music to them..
The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

Caught many mice in a humane trap during winter months, relocating them to the woods 1/2 mile away. After about the 11th one I was getting fed up (some died in the trap overnight) it was pointed out to me that relocating them probably kills them anyhow as they’ve no nest to keep warm in overnight. I went out and bought a bunch of little snappers!

Being released and then eaten by a predator is natural, helping other animals to survive.

At least being free gives them a chance.

Had 4 Peacock butterflies in the workshop yesterday. All gently taken off the windows and released outside...

Some sodding great big bumblebees around too - queens looking for nesting sites mainly...

First swallow arrived this morning. A nice reminder that some things are carrying on as normal.
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

When mice chew through your classic cars cam belt and wiring causing a bucket load of grief and expense they become enemy #1. They're vermin and reproduce at a prodigious rate.

Yes, a few of those cruising around here too. I heard one through the double-glazed kitchen window at my computer, I first thought it was in the house.
