I keep coming across him in drumming-related videos on Youtube - very sad.

Very sad news, he was one of my favourite two rock drummers, up there with Ian Paice. Saturday will now be a Rush tribute day, on vinyl, obviously.

Possibly the greatest drummer ever imo. Always seems to be 10 beats ahead, the last word in precision.
Such a talent only seems to come along once in any generation.

there was a you tube vid put up on hifi subjectivist recently that declared no such drummer as 'the best drummer'....
so, not to detract from Neil Peart, who, imo, was right up there!

I have played with drummers like that :-)
