Incorrect.

Dave has not commented because Dave has been touring the awethumne North Kent coastline today with his big footed luvver!

Now look, its called a Fixie because thats what it is. The same rule applies to cars, they're either Automaticlie or Manualie.

It was flippn' brillliant to be cycking out of the smoke.

Little roads thro Woburn to skirt the horrors of Dunstable, Ivinghoe beacon and Tring to Wendover, circle round to Stoke Mandraxville hospital for lunch and lift Back to Beds.

42 miles.

Tomorrow I'll wake up dead.

You're back Mr. Bass! Does that mean JTS is better and you've had to return the nurse's outfit?

Anyway, a good effort. You're suffereing the same as me - you quickly go soft if you lay-off for a while.

On the spin bike in the gym at work I'm consistently doing a virtual 7miles in under 20mins and aim to get to sub 19mins before too long.

I'm sitting enjoying a coffee (decaff of course, gotta take care of the BP) after this morning's ride; not too far today but I pushed it along a bit and the strength is coming back.

Starts in: Taunton Deane, England, GB
Distance: 20.5 mi
Elevation: + 850 / - 861 ft
Max Grade: 8.8 %
Avg. Grade: 0.4 %
VAM: 347 Vm/h
Moving Time: 01:18:59
Calories: 858
Avg. Watts: 181
Max Speed: 28.7 mph
Avg. Speed: 15.5 mph

Hoping to do a 30miler tomorrow if the weather holds up.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Yeah, it was nice to get out for some Fffphixey Fun. JTS is slowly getting independent again, the poor little sausage has been wheelchair bound for 7 weeks and needed a lot of assistance but the cast came off on Wednesday and she's now slowly wobbling around the house on a Zimmer frame trying to get confident putting weight on her new foot! Its a lot smaller than it was before, I reckon she's had a transplant! Gnarly scar too where all the RSJ's, springs and hinges went in or summat.

Muscles feel OK today, 5 pints of Ale sorted that out :)

It's not the muscles as such. I just don't feel very well - everywhere.

Another lovely day but today I'm limping along trying to find snowdrops - not difficult.

If Monday is anything like I'll get back in the saddle.

what with all the negativity and mention of safety regarding the fixie I decided not to go back to the car-boot. Instead I located the old Holdsworth from the discarded items pile, with a view to piling on the TLC and reuniting with the glass strewn cycle tracks.

I was a bit concerned about the moss growing in rude places and the seat looks like it needs replacing. I mentioned this to a cycling expert chum and he suggested I should worry about rust inside the frame....also suggested the fixie might be a safer alternative.....talk about conflicting info....oh waily waily

If the frame is properly welded how do you get internal corrosion ?

Ed, get yourself a commuter/urban bike; it doesn't have to cost the earth to buy something that is versatile and of good quality from a reputable seller, for example;

Because the frame isn't a sealed unit.

So much about modern ( bikes ) are sealed units.

Well, weeps and wails.... I have fitted my old toe clip pedals on the uber bike I can't get used to HPD Sis or the other things. I keep forgetting to get my feet out of the cleats, I come to a stop and fall.

My self confidence takes another bash.

But it is worse. When setting off, for example, as thelights go to green I still have great diffuculty getting my foot back in the cleats. The cycling shoes are all slippy and unbendy and its a mess, quite frankly. Having used toe clips for over fifty years all is smooth, well and completely unconscious. But it could be the beginning of the end aaaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhh - oh well.

Onwards!

Not knowing much about anything, but I would have thought sealing it would have been harder than it sounds, it would need to be done in a dry inert atmosphere I would think to prevent internal moisture being trapped.
