Thanks! In many ways a walk like that in the mist and quiet is just as enjoyable. The leaves are just starting to turn, and everything’s feeling autumnal, which I love.
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

As I'm currently laid up I've had a bit more time than usual for reading and I'm currently half way through this book;
It's probably not the best book to read when you're in discomfort as you need to be paying attention but a very interesting read nevertheless and I expect I'll reread it sometime to reinforce what I'm learning - so far I've just about stayed with it but I think the hard bits are ahead as I'm just beginning the chapters on quantum theory.
Worth a look I suggest.

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Would be a fascinating project for someone (not me) - if anyone goes for it, keep us informed!

I noticed this when looking at Nicks link above:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Webcor-Royali ... 0010.m2109
and the pantaloon duck white goose neck quacked
for those that are interested, I'm wondering if this was a common brand in the US in the 60s...or maybe I'm just unaware of the roots of the myth.

There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be

Mmm.. interesting .
I wonder if it could be used as a Bush recorder ( for out recording in the bush ) . Probably not.
