Is that a Slatedeck Will? Looks great!! I was tempted to get one for my Lenco, but looks like that will never happen now. Not sure what's happened.

Cheers,

Colin, it will go to Owston its not set up yet, I think Friday.
It was made by a stone cutter who installed a granite fireplace for me, I gave him a blast of Stevie Ray and Muddy and he wanted to be my friend.

Hi Will,

Looks lovely. I can't imagine your system without the Lenco! Looking forward to hearing it in November and having a bit of a natter about it.

Best wishes,

Thanks Chaps, I was going to comment on the sound but its been said and I can only compare it to the Lenco and I'm not going to diss the Lenco its a great turntable very different to the 401 and I have been told to mothball it.
Also thanks to the box of valves I purchased off Ebay :) paid for deck and plinths.
Will.

i'd be interested to hear how it compares to the lenco but then they're in different plinths so it wouldn't be a true comparison i suppose

Richard its a matter of taste I like both but I have to do some work on the 401.
The 401 has a more solid full sound everything grounded , voices are more natural the Lenco is full of life has more air and top end.
One is young blue eyed and blond the other is brown eyed and brunette 10 years older and has been round the block a few times, a matter of taste.
