The 3.4 gen one has a better bearing. But it can suffer from borescoring. Mine has been checked but any 14 year old car can have problems. Got it checked over by a local independent and there was a bit to do (air con radiators. Coolant crossover pipes and break pipes). But that's all done now and goes with the territory.

I'm pleased you've found a car that you like.

When Jean retires we might have need for a more "fun" car, don't know what, but a sporty classic with a V8 would be nice.

Dunno what tyres you have on it Nick, but I’ve just put a set of Goodyear F1 super sports on the beemer, and they are a revelation frankly, just amazing tyres. Really show up what utter shite the OEM Continental run flats are by comparison.

Not cheap, granted, but probably the best road tyres available at the moment.

Its got Michelin PS2 on. I have replaced the fronts as they were showing their age, need to change the rears sometime.

A few years ago we had a trip round the Morgan factory, which was interesting, and in the shop they had some VERY nice leather (flying style) jackets. I tried one on, but when I saw the price I was dumbfounded.

So yes, a flying jacket, cloth cap, string back leather gloves and white silk scarf will do nicely.

There is a firm in Saffron Walden (XCS designs) who do Cobra replicas with camber compensated front and rear suspensions and supercharged 6.2 Chevy v8 engines -------------- COOL.

Not sure about the pipe, but maybe a hip flask full of Wincarnis.

I used to have an original WW2 era flying jacket. No idea what happened to it. Shame, was probably worth a few quid.

It's a good day at the Morgan factory, we went about 4years ago, my plan was to see how mine would back together, to be honest, the modern ones didn't look much difference to my pile of bits.. one day..!

A lad who worked for me bought a 911 a few years ago, it was a lovely thing, he kept it about 3 years, after which he said it was great to have owned one, but feared he would loose his license if he kept it, and if I recall correctly the servicing costs where rather high. Not that that would worry a man in nicks position.. enjoy !

New ones are expensive enough, mines about 10 years old, the best and warmest jacket I've ever owned, can wear it with just a T shirt at minus temperatures..
pay the extra for a Morgan label.. not me..but you've given me a thought !

Aye, it was a great jacket, wore it for years. Still had the clips on the collar for the leather flying helmet.

That is a worry, it is a bit nippy, and combined with the rather addictive exhaust note its easy to get carried away.

Regular stamps in the book are vital for resale value, but I am at the point where its a matter of finding a good specialist shop and trusting them. The official service interval is better than I originally expected.

Oil change every 10k/1 Year, I plan to not do that much in a year, so an annual oil change should be ok. Break fluid every two years. A minor service is £191, major £291. Its an indulgence but what the heck.
