Ha! Chance would be a fine thing, as soon as i put them on a group of people immediately want to talk to me...... its amazing, i can have had hours where nobody has said a word, but as soon as they go on, people want to tell me important things
I do have a set of wireless sennheisers, but i need to add a fixed output to something to use them. And get another power supply for them because it was the only one that fit the socket on the beresford dac that mi dad is using.
I should be used to it by now

Earlier today .. I was making a WiFi booster.
Ingredients - spare piece of 9mm ply ; spray ( photo mount ) glue ; aluminium foil .
Result - a nice 5Ghz mirror to help the router-rays down the corridor to my 'office' in the kitchen.
Wish I'd done this a few months ago !

Nice spare bike frame too.
The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

I like them a little bigger than that mark, and I've got far too many.
I bought a really nice frame a couple of years ago and just discovered last week its an early argos, most went to America in the 70s.
Now argos is better known for refinishing... (not to be confused with the other 'argos', the catalogue )

I’ve resumed my writing.
Just completed a short story, and am really enjoying getting back into authoring.

Brilliant! Can we see?

Spent the afternoon at a trade tile place. Awesome. Got some new toys 8)

Sauna floor is structurally complete - a posh way of saying I've put in a subfloor of 18mm ply screwed down to the 22mm T5 chipboard base on a 200mm matrix. 156 screws. Now need an S2 elastic adhesive layer followed by 6mm cement board which is in turn screwed down on a 300mm matrix using special load-spreading washers. All A2 stainless fixings...

Lots more to do to finish the floor before tiling... Mainly how the door transition works and finishing the wetroom sealing around the edges...

Thanks to a YouTube video I now know where my CRV fuel filter is located, and the probable need for a special tool (£7) to unscrew the top. I might get away by bodging, but I've ordered the tool and a replacement filter. Should be here Monday.

Car is much better to drive now, power when needed (not very often) and more flexible at poodling around speeds. :D

Somehow, I can’t see a tale of longing, family, love, loss, pigeon fanciers and the supernatural, appealing to a bunch of hairy-arsed valve amp builders.

Being a bit bored I plugged in my Ubuntu hard drive to check for updates.

Seems there is a new version, 20.04 called Focal Fossa. Downloading and installing as I type, on no 1 spare computer (PC).

did a bit of work on ed's b1, put it in a new case i picked up cheap

Image20201023_104114 by anthony cresswell, on Flickr

nice quality, it consists of 4mm aluminium panels, some cast curved corners and a 3mm top and bottom. i had to mill out a section behind where the dc socket is on the back of the unit to thin the panel enough to get the socket fixing nut on, my little proxxon milling machine did a nice job of that. i might mill a small amount off the back of the side panels where the internal machine screws fix the panels on so that i can put some walnut veneer on the panels and still have them flush to the sides.

also made a cock up on a g99 build with the finish, the finishing wax pulled out some the ebony stain. i scraped off the wax with a stanley knife blade which left a quite nice finish under it. still need to refinish it, but its an interesting finish nonetheless

have to wait for some new veneer to arrive first

Sheeting down with rain, so doing studwork for sauna internals today...

Doesn't look much at the moment, but peeing with rain outside and solid dry inside.

20 bits of CLS studding - untreated timber as you can't use treated timber in a sauna structure. Subfloor of 18mm hardwood WPB screwed on a 20cm matrix to the floor. S2 adhesive layer next, then cement board screwed on a 30cm matrix, then waterproofing (wet floor) sealing, then more S2 and then tiling - probably the black slate-look non-slip ceramic ones.

Wood will be Aspen for the benches etc and alder for the panelling.

Sauna will be 2x2.4mtrs by 2.1 high. 9kw heater.

20.04 is an LTS release which is probably best for general use at the moment.

20.10 ("Groovy Gorilla") is now out and has all the latest bells and whistles, including a full official Canonical RPi version. That means you get micro clouds and kernel 5.8 instead of 5.4 used in 20.04 plus a bunch of other stuff, including an official Pi Ubuntu desktop (official server builds have been around a while).

It has a large footprint, meaning that a Pi 4 with 8Gb is the preferred target.

Note that 20.10 is NOT an LTS release, so is only supported for 9 months.
