Coronavirus: Police called to Streetly funeral.

Shows what a difficult job Police have with the emergency laws.

We have a friend who is a humanist minister, she has said that funeral services are very difficult for all sorts of reasons at the moment.

And, runners are being targeted.

A sports club in Gloucestershire has said its members have been verbally abused, spat at and had things thrown at them while out running.

"The Gloucester Athletic Club said since the lockdown, it has been advising its members to run solo, with the only exception being if they are running with someone in their household.

Richard Blackwell, from the club said: "Club members have contacted me since last week, having been shouted at, spoken to quite aggressively, spat at, and had drinks cartons thrown at them.

"These are people who are running on their own."

He added that all club members had been advised what the rules were, and encouraged them to run to lesser known local trails to help avoid busy areas.

He also said, sometimes, members of the public "tarred other runners with the same brush" if they had seen other runners unaware of their surroundings."

Not such 'Rant' but a bit of a Positive Mental Attitude Moment.

I've Nearly completed Day 15 of my Complete Bound to the property lock down.
It is amazing what can be done to be highly stimulating from the confines of the property.
I have a 'to do list' coming together (not had a domestic one before to this capacity) and have been deselecting the ones where a strenuous effort is to required, as I don't want to expose myself to a unnecessary injury,
especially, when the professional services are so strained.

My plan is to commence with undertaking a couple of simple to achieve projects, using a selection of materials I've had in storage,
a bit of tongue and groove and painting, and lay a laminate floor I've had for a year or so.
It is nice to be able to think the Jobs through without feeling the pressure of a time constraint.
Hopefully the Battery Drill Set I was treated to at Xmas will get a few hours of usage, as the days progress.

I have two bikes here, one a Mountain Bike and One Road Bike.
During a Phone Conversation I been made aware of a alternate usage that would benefit me, as and when the want arrives,
to undertake a exercise routine, as a result of the guidance received, I have looked at a Bike Training Stand.
This can be set up in the Garden and I can get great benefit from this without needing to head out anywhere.
Depending on the model selected, the cost seems very fair, and will be perfect to aid me during my intention to stay close to home.
At a time like this I really don't want to go out anywhere as a novice, and potentially cause a injury needing a professional Service to administer a treatment, that would be tragic, as these services are so strained.

During a phone call with my brother yesterday evening, he gave me the idea whilst talking to him about how he is getting on with his Lock Down and encouraging him to engage in a talk as he lives by himself.
He is a Die Hard Cyclist and Swimmer, he told me he dug out his bad weather Bike Trainer, that he uses in the worst of Winter and is using it to continue his cycling indoors, as he is not willing to go out and expose himself to a incident.
He claims that he is totally OK with this as a work out, and is maintaining his fitness, it is meeting all of his exercise needs,
but he is missing his swimming most.
More importantly he has said that by doing this he can still go out for a short exercise walk a few times a week to take in
a bit off a scenery change.

It was a valuable phone call, as his reference to swimming reminded me of a above ground Pool I have stored in a Stable,
that can be set up in the hot weather, so I could do some water aerobics, as well as set up a stationary bike exerciser as the
Lock Down evolves.
I'm sure my family will appreciate the pool being set up, when this Lock Down is done, and we have our first Al Fresco Celebration.

It is great for me to know that there are alternatives to the norm, that are being used by those that usually take part as
avid participants in the normal methods, and that when adopting these options, the reports on the outcome, are that of
being very beneficial not only to oneself, but under the present situation, also extend into the wider community.

I feel no inclination towards penance or martydom so after completing my day's work I headed out for my usual solo exercise ride this afternoon, exploring and enjoying some of the wonderful rural byways of Somerset; 22 miles in under 80minutes, only a little longer than the average person takes to walk 3miles.

The change of scenery does wonders after being couped up and feeling as though I'm in Groundhog Day. It's great for my general wellbeing and gives my senses a real treat with the sight of daffodils and leaf buds bursting, the sound of birds singing and lambs bleating, the smell of the muck spreading; the joys of rural England!
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Another illustration regarding unnecessary car journeys.

"'Bored' driver crashes car during lockdown, say police
A "bored" motorist who went out for a drive ended up crashing his car, Essex Police said.

The collision prompted officers to warn people to heed the government's instruction to stay home during the lockdown.

They said the crash in Chelmsford on Tuesday had put unnecessary strain on emergency services, which were already busy."
