I find dry air affects my throat.
Usually I would only have the dehumidifier on at night (mainy because the noise is annoying) and yes doors are normally shut at night. Not used it for a couple of days at least so not sure what this nose thing is. No change.

New thermometer on order, could be a couple of weeks tho!

Have you an outdoor clothes line Mike ?

Down here it's sunny with a cool breeze, ideal for "proper" drying. :)

So, this latest clampdown, are they stopping us from driving ?
It appears to be in England , not Wales.
My sister said the police were stopping cars on the A19 near York today quizzing them on what they are doing.
I'm taking next week off and was hoping at least to be able to go somewhere quiet away from Denbigh for a walk , seems like a very sensible thing to be doing rather than bumbling around town or going to the supermarket.
Motorbikes ?
Cyclists ?
This is all starting to sound insane, given that our company is still expecting 2/3rds of the workforce to be going in to offices and factory spaces where they can't properly adhere to the distancing rules.

Is going for a walk away from home an "essential journey" ?

I feel the Police would say NO.

The only way I would feel comfortable (in the current situation) to ride my motorcycle would be to use it to visit my mother. A 45 mile run each way, and with a little flexibility on the route.

I'm forgoing my bi-weekly walks with friends and now walk from home, alone or with Jean.

Fortunately I'm in a rural area.

Yes apparently it's official.

So I'm forced to exercise near home, where there's more risk of catching the virus.
Ok, I'll have to go out on the bike, it looks like that's not prohibited.
Will have to take the big camera in the rucksack.
But I can't go out every day on the bike, I'll get too tired, so I might have to work a day or two next week even though I need a mental break. The alternative is just wandering from room to room.

Does that mean a Policeman is going to get in your car and stop you from putting it in 'R' or ''D''?

I've got an idea, don't tell anyone otherwise everyone will be doing it.

I'd foole him out by asking him to pop outside to check the indicators are working OK them bomb off down the road in 'F' for fast...arf arf arf! That'd learn 'em.

Yes but I only use it in the summer when it's properly warm.

BBC news today, police drone videos of people driving to the Lake District to walk the dog, "This is not an essential journey"

So "No."

Food or medicines only, medical reason etc., vital employment.

Motorbikes, if going to get food or medicines.

Bicycles, dunno. Is exercise, but so is a short walk?

Don't think visiting other relatives etc. is right. The message was clear, do not go out unless essential. Now police enforced as others have observed. I saw today next door's boyfriend's car parked under her carport again, don't think that's responsible TBH, I don't know where he lives the next village I think, so then who else has he been in contact with? They're both pensioners by the way.

Perhaps she is "vulnerable", which might be OK.

Or, he fancied a shag, which is not OK (according to guidelines).

It's going out on the bike every day that'll give you the strength to go out on your bike every day - just start with shorter, easier rides and build up gradually. If you do it you'll have the option of venturing somewhere different everyday. Solo riding for exercise is fine and totally within the guidance we've been asked to adhere to.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!
