It seems the "R" rate is creeping up ever so slightly. I hope that the new found freedom that some are enjoying does not negate all the good work we have achieved.
As for me, I'm carrying on as if lockdown were still as it was.

If it's the antibody test , it takes about 14 days after recovery for it to show positive, apparently.
However the antigen test should have shown positive.
Glad they are OK, anyway .

Pah !
Just going out on my bike, with a rucksack containing some trainers, so I can walk a bit on the West side of the hills for the first time in about a month.

My daughters flat mate tested negative and yet has all the symptoms. The test is very dependant on how well the swabs are taken, report was the young girl taking the swabs looked and acted nervous as heck so probably didn’t do it properly....

I have a number of clients asking me about when I can progress their bathroom projects. I'm feeling very uneasy about that prospect in that their home is my work place. Plus there's my sub contractors involved as well. Given we can only meet one other person at this time, going back to work seems a very odd idea.

As far as I can see Stephen a lot of building trades round here have continued as if nothing has happened. Of course, that might be part of why infections are on the increase here...

One wonders if you would have questioned the test if it had been positive.
#503 Re: Corona Virus Lock Down 'Rant' Thread.
Given the symptoms a positive test would have little reason to be doubted. IMHO.
Seems likely that that could only affect the test in the negative direction. The test is very dependant on how well the swabs are taken

When I was a registered nurse my first job was an old TB hospital, my ward was an isolation ward every one got their own room. It was the nominated “Infectious Diseases” Ward. So whether you like it or not and no skin off my nose, I was the front line against all these types of disease and some you’ve never heard of and some we hadn’t a clue what to do for.Neal wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 11:26 pmDoes one?Daniel Quinn wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 7:01 pmOne wonders if you would have questioned the test if it had been positive.

Taking the NPA (Naso Pharygial Aspirate) which is the correct way to test for such a Virus as this, was a skill for which you took on something in nursing called “extended roll which was a step towards “Nurse Practitioners”. To get the aspirate such that it’s adequate you can’t be a wet fish or fearful.
It’s a test well known in those days which is hard to get right and there are always false negatives. But few from people trained properly. But those people were already experienced not dragged out of the military or something dumb like that!

Philosophers have only interpreted the world - the point, however, is to change it. No it isn't ... maybe we should leave it alone for a while.

Me too!
and while we're on Trump, it's quite scary how he's using exactly the same strategy/tactics from, for example the dictatorships of the 1930's, where you use a scapegoat to deflect from your own failings, in this case China and the WHO. That and sack anyone who might shine a light on the corruption/cronyism that is an inherent part of his regime.
They seem so obvious but clearly work with a substantial part of the US population!

Not just from the 1930s. Think Chávez and Maduro.
