Very nice.....
I had a little friendly duel with a Lancia identical to the pic 9 down, coming off a Brittany Ferry, at Caen, way back ooh about 1989, I was driving a Triumph Vitesse, hood down....happy days!

Ah, you must mean the Datsun 240z/260z/280z ?
The 280z was USA only.

Some Police Traffic Departments used Capris. They used to load several breeze blocks in the boot in an attempt to tame the rear end.

While Ford marketed the car as "Ford Capri – The Car You Always Promised Yourself", "Car" magazine described the Capri as a "Cortina in drag".
What other comparable (price range) cars were there in the UK at the time ?

wowsa, that's brought back a memory.....
sometime in 1975(might have been 1976 or even 1977) I was coming back from a gig in Baldock in my capri when I was rear ended by a 240z at the A1 roundabout. He immediately reversed, overtook me and sped off towards Stotfold. I guess he thought he was being smart.....when I got out to find out what he'd done I found his front number plate lying in the road with all the debris....I can still remember the guys name from the court case..go figure!

Despite all that I have fond memories of the two Capri's I owned in my misspent youth 1.6 and 3.0 both Mk i's. Ed, I still have memories (and possibly scars) of getting a Marshal 4*12 into the back seat (and out again). And Greg, they were great at learning to steer into a skid
Sorry Neal, off topic. But the next vehicle I owned after the 3,0 was a Ducati, does that count?
