I have a problem with a dtv camera....

the Mem Sahib has an old Canon md120 dtv movie camera which she doesn't use anymore because it has stripes on the screen. I suspect it's a head problem. The trouble is she has 20 or 30 dtv tapes she wants to transfer to HDD. In the past I rigged up a firewire connection and downloaded tapes in real time from the camera....

If it's a head problem with the camera I suspect this method will no longer work.....

so the question...does anybody know if such a thing as a dtv player exists.....

before anybody suggests getting them transferred professionally.....I'm fairly certain it's between £20 and £30 per tape from what she tells me....so that's out!

Why not get a head cleaning cassette ?

Or, try this

Seems that model of camera was entry level and image quality was regarded as "poor".

Re cleaning the heads.

On VCR machines and compact cassette players I have used cotton buds with some fluid from a compact cassette head cleaning kit.

So I know it works.
