Yes.

I've managed to do it now, must be to do with how I'm using the Samsung keyboard.

Typing using the Built in keyboard is fiddly, Christ knows how I'd manage with a smart phone.

It's alright, I struggle with mine sometimes.
Auto-correct can help, or it can result in some amusing suggestions. Doesn't help with entering usernames/passwords, though. YMMV.

You can get external keyboards for tablets - might be worth a quick look.

There is a game you can play on a smart phone which is accept only the right most suggested words, or the left most suggested words, and see what you end up with.
