Change of plan.
I'll probably just turn up with nothing. It'll be nice to sit and listen to everyone else's stuff, have a laugh and socialise.
Can't be arsed with the hassle or the anxiety, not whilst I'm doing quite well with the G.A.D. treatment.
The missus thinks it'd be best if I just show up and socialise and I'm inclined to agree.

Whatever's best for you Steve. :)

Steve can we add my brother Geoff Jennings please?

We'll both be there Saturday and go back to my house overnight. Put us down for Sunday as well, though we may have to drop out at the last minute (possible family commitment).

I'll bring my amps, speaker & source on Saturday. Really looking forward to getting some real feedback and advice. In particular hum reduction, though I'm really expecting that to drop when I put the DC boards in (currently on AC heaters for all 12 valves).

I also would REALLY like to hear the amps driving other speakers. I've only ever heard them driving lowthers with powered subs. I'd really like to hear a different speaker system capable of producing the bass without the active subs, but PP 45s will need something efficient and I don't know what might suit. Would love to explore options and try something.

Do we allocate slots for demonstrations, or is it not that orchestrated?

Tends to start off with each system playing three tracks each, then after that just whatever people want to try. Your amp would be ideal on Steve Shiels’ speakers, they are very sensitive and he uses flea powered amps of his own design with vintage British valves.

Change of plan again.
I'll bring the DIYNVA amp as Nick wanted a listen to it.
That's easy enough.

OK, things have been a bit fluid on the old family stuff, I can now make the Saturday from just before lunchtime till 8pm.
Not intending to bring much, but will be nice to see everyone.

Spoke to the Electronics Engineer building my 845 Monoblocks on Thursday. these are now hooked up for testing, a date is being arranged to put all the items together for the final matching of Gain, etc.
I would like to bring these to Owston with my Slagle AVC. I would need to be able to use them with a loan of speakers and a source.
I have been offered a trial with them on the Monacor OB Passives, which should be interesting.
So these amps will fit in nicely into the mix and match sessions.

The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

Hi Steve,

I'm new to this forum but have been on the Wam for a few years.

I think it was you I had a good chat with at Kegworth earlier in the year regarding your speakers and you suggested coming along to this meet.

I did have a prior engagement on the weekend but my plans have changed so I would potentially be able to visit mid evening on the Saturday (I don't know how late things would go on for) and be there for the whole day on the Sunday.

I also have two friends who have shown an interested in coming along.

We could even bring a small system to set up first thing on the Sunday but will appreciate it if you are already fully booked for systems.

We would either stay at the nearby hotel or a travelodge/premier inn depending on cost.

Would we be welcome to come along?

Kind regards, Clive

Hi Clive, I had a good day at the wam show and spent the full day chatting. Our main day is the Saturday but this year it could well be that Sunday is on par...
Your more than welcome. A little further back in this thread is most of the info about the local hotel(within walking distance) but that may be booked up now.
Just confirm what days and the names of all the guests, and by all means bring a system or two, it will be good to see you again
