Ta everyone, yeah, ol' Roger from Redditch is coming along quite nicely. Today I've been working on rebuilding the clutch and playing around with trying to get a 60's rotor aligned with a 12V Indian stator (answer, don't try this, they're different sizes).
He looks like this at the moment.
I've learned sooooooooooooooo much in the last 5 months down the shed/Bullet Lab, I've never done a full-on ground up restoration of a motorbike before. It's been massively time and measly-wage consuming but fun all the same. Its also one of the reasons I've built absolutely zilch DIY HiFi for ages now, been listening to tons and tons of music on the SB Radio down shed though.

Looking really good. Have you done your own paintwork or had it sprayed/stove enamelled professionally? Is the chrome original or has it been redone?
The stand looks interesting. Original was cast alloy, the feet of which used to wear out rapidly. Is that an Indian replacement?
If you’ve still got the original 6v alternator and it’s serviceable, rewire it so all coils are outputting at the same time to provide 12v all the time and introduce a zener diode attached to heatsink clamped to frame to burn off excess voltage (stops battery boil). Also, replace any Lucas rectifier with a solid state version. Used to be available from RS. Did all this on my Continental GT back in the seventies as did most of my mates at the time in the REOC. If you’re not a member, well recommended if only for their very well resourced library of original Enfield manuals, illustrated parts list and plenty more. They’ll want your bike on their register.
PS. If you’re going to persist with those bloody tyres, I’d fit a sidecar

Ta.
Paintwork, a mixture really. I got the frame, swingarm, fork shrouds and engine plates all professionally powder coated (as they take the brunt of weather and stone chips) but everything else I've done myself. Still saving up to get the tinware toolbox/air cleaner/battery compartment lids done. The tank is going to cost a lot to sort, dunno what to do about that yet TBH.
Chrome, on the 'guards is original, they're not back on the bike yet. Wheels are rebuilt in stainless steel, rims and spokes.
Stand, the original Alloy jobbie had 2 busted feet and was really too short/worn to support the bike, (yup, you guessed it!) the replacement is an Indian stand which works better and is easier to use. Win-win.
Yups, original stator will be re-used, feeding a modern 12 Rec/reg unit. The whole bike needs a total a rewire. On it!
Stator lives here, which is where I've spent most of today...
Erks.....
Yups, been a member of the REOC since 1998 on and off, I've owned an Indian Bullet for over 20 years.
Tyres are new! They're the 17" version of what I use on my Indybum Bullet, I like 'em.

Lurking.
I did a Bantam sort of like this once (well twice actually), wasn't as tidy as this tho. (Especially the first time)
I only found out recently that honing a cylinder is about making a slightly roughened surface that can hold a film of oil.

I thought you always included concrete blocks in your projects - can't see any?

Actually, I went out for a ride on the BMW this afternoon.
Didn't go far, just to make sure everything was still OK.

Sure do, probably the best bike I've ever had.
I have a problem with my left hand when riding. Using the clutch often can result in pain after more than an hour.
Could be an arthritis or rheumatism problem.
