Nick, do we have to endure this ?

Phil, do we have to endure your comments every time Richard makes a post?

Have you looked at the thread Phil? Or are you suffering from an attack of Knee Jerk? Jez has not written anything controversial yet. I will be following that thread with interest. Like him or hate him, IMO he is very sound technically.

I just fear what Richard will make of it as the Arkless thread (on another forum) progresses.

Why can't we

A) Follow the thread on the forum it's posted on. (if we so desire)
or
B) Richard can do it on his own forum, and we can follow it on there.(if we so desire)

Just my own most humble opinion of course.

Well, if nobody comments on the comments then your fears won't become self fufilling, esp. if you refrain from posting. :)

Well there is a gathering of sheep at AoS looking forward to it, so it should be fun.

My point was to give a heads up to some potential amusement, or maybe even education :drunken:

A bit of a coincidence that it appears soon after the independent review of his modified phono stage which came off very much second best to the NVA phono 1. Little doubt that he will be using the sticky to promote his business with the help of stooges.

CN this post at HFS just gives us a laugh, here it will go down like a lead balloon. Lets just discuss what the guy comes up with.

Arkless - "After some thought I have decided that before going into the subject of SMPS, the bigger picture of power supplies in general needs tackling. I often see all sorts of confusion, false assumptions and 2 + 2=5 going on regarding power supplies (PSU's) so going back to basics is probably a good start. Some foundations are required before heading off in any specialised areas..."

I am making a presumption, but my bet is everything will be based on theory and test gear results, he really doesn't get the "use your ears" bit. Well Nick for one and others of you can take a basic circuit of something and build equiv versions with SMPS and linear supplies and compare the results with music.

There, that would make be an interesting and educational bake-off.

In fact I could build a SMPS supply for the Phono 2 at approx the same rating as the linear supply that normally goes with it, though couldn't do it in time for the Aug 6th Uddersfield bake-off, if that is still going to happen
