A Sunday in September. Kent / London borders - I am looking for names to see if it is viable - list below. Say which Sunday(s) you are available.

I have No Preferences for a particular Day. It would be nice to have a big turnout though and take advantage of these rare events.

Leave it to the end of September, kids back at school and a bit of thumb twiddling will get a bit of motivation.

You hope!

I said it shouldn't be me doing it, I was told I was wrong, but so far I am proved to be right.

The odd one out in a threesome is probably lonelier.

636 Views and not one new attendee declaring themselves.
I jumped at the chance to attend, all the musical experience to be enjoyed from a nice short run down a motorway " Bingo".
I am sure that if in the pursuit of knowledge and experience, if a personal position can be put forward where " Principles are put above Personalities"
then all the valuable moments of a day like the Southern Phono Stage Bake Off can be very rewarding, as well as a local event for many.
Two extra hours in bed on a Sunday must be a start of the rewards, as well as a understanding of what is appealing to ones ears in relation to replaying the black stuff, WOW! , that must be money well spent.

John, it would be nice to support some more southerly get-togethers, (though being in the SW I would still likely have a bit of a trip) but I wont consider going to this event because of my principles;
  • I have no desire to socialise with a man who has declared me an 'eeediot' for simply expressing an opinion
  • I think this event is more about sweetcheek's obsessive agenda around Firebottle/Arkless and selling NVA kit
As it happens I don't do vinyl so it won't be a big miss for me but I'll be happy, nay enthusiastic, to consider future events down Sowf.

BTW, picking up on your knowledge and experience comment, I agree that is what it should be about and that is why I don't like the term 'bake-off'; the wins should be in expanding our knowledge and experience rather than trying to rate equipment.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Read the thread and the other one, I was challenged to do it when I said I shouldn't because of people like you. Read the label that was applied to this excuse. All you do is prove me right.

The recent phono comparisons in Huddersfield, reading the post event comments have proved to be a very enjoyable and entertaining day for the attendees. If these reports are not enough to encourage a get together down south, then I,ll be buggered.
