Bad luck.
I'm just about to go out for a walk. It's blowing a hoolie round here, today, not good cycling weather.

Hope you enjoyed your walk Mark. It's blowing here too, 14mph westerly, gusting to 25mph; I had a hard slog eastwards for 12.5miles and then flew home - average of 16.7mph for the round trip! Forecast for the weekend looks a bit variable.

Blowing even harder today!

I rode in the opposite direction today so very fast out leg, heading east, then a slog all the way home.

At about the turn point, this is Burrow Mump, a sort of miniature Glastonbury Tor that sits alongside the confluence of the Rivers Parrett and Tone at Burrowbridge - this is on the Somerset Levels so although it's a good few miles from the Bristol Channel the rivers are still tidal.

Indeed. The Bristol Channel has the second highest tidal range variance in the world. Around 15 metres. Consequently, most of the rivers that feed into it have a notable range variation well inland by several miles.

Yep, second only to the Bay of Fundy in Novia Scotia,

Nice photo, Ray. I'll be out in a short wile for a valley ride, just wondering how to ring the changes on the available roads to add some interest.

Beautiful weather for a bike ride. Here's the view towards Taunton from the south (Thurlbear Woods to be precise).

Very nice. Similar conditions up here.
I've had a good couple of days on the bike. Yesterday afternoon I did an hour & 5 mins on some of the usual valley roads, the wind had dropped, quite nice.
Today, better, went for a couple of hours, some variations on a regular route that goes down the main road to and past Ruthin, then through some wooded hills and back along the east side of the valley though Llanbedr DC.
I managed to do one short stretch of road I have never used before. Very good it was too.

Those arrows are Welsh for one-way-systems in the middle of nowhere yeah?!

Could be - there wasn't any 2-way traffic there that I could detect. North of Llanbedr I did nearly get crushed into a hedge by a massive tractor with a grass trailer, though.

Wow, what an amazing day out there on the roads. Like riding in the South of France. More meanderings in the hilly lanes south of Ruthin, at my far point today. Only problem was a stinker of a headwind for the first hour, heading south on the main road. On the way back it was cycling heaven, tailwind, 23°C, blazing sun , clear views everywhere.
2hrs13 at 141bpm average, pulse would have been a bit lower without the headwind start.

I also took the opportunity the nice weather presented for a good ride this afternoon. Felt strong and ended up doing 65miles (about 100Km).

That’s 26,417 heartbeats.

I need to get out more.
