Good effort - & incredibly low pulse rate for that route.
Did you find your house had sunk 58ft when you got home, though ?

I'm just about to take up a bit of numb bum again,
I'll begin with the Cambridge Park and Ride daily cycles and begin doing more intense exercise using the Road bike,
doing a little Roadwork/exercise bike, as I got "beaten" doing a few long cycles on my entry to road exercise last year.
I'll put down a challenge for myself, and attempt to be 21lbs/10Kg lighter for my Owston visit, where I was inspired by a attendee, " Ray I think " to give the cycling a go.

I did go out ! I did !
54mins on normal route across to Llandyrnog and down the B-road.
Average pulse 133bpm ( Max 154bpm )
Legs started going stiff after 20mins !
Good to get out though, landscape looked great, trees casting shadows across newly ploughed and raked fields, little white clouds in wedgewood blue sky, weeping willows coming into bud. I love Spring .

Well done all members of the AT Cycle Squadron.
Oh how our environs differ! Yesterday I cycled past 2 fellas knocking the crap out of one another in Poplar, 2 smack heads monged out, Buckingham Palace, tourists taking pics of Lizzies Swans and armed Police at the Houses of Parliament.IslandPink wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 6:22 pm Good to get out though, landscape looked great, trees casting shadows across newly ploughed and raked fields, little white clouds in wedgewood blue sky, weeping willows coming into bud. Thanks Mark. I think I'm in pretty good shape cardiovascular wise. I think I've mentioned before that my at rest rate is in the mid 50s and the full data is showing me that my heart rate recovers very quickly after an effort like a long climb. I know I have spare capacity but I'm constrained by a lack of strength in my legs; I know I should be able to cimb quicker. I think I'm suffering because I'm trying to improve my fitness whilst shedding the extra pounds I put on after last September's crash. I think if I can get to a good weight and increase my food intake a bit I should find more strength developing.IslandPink wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 12:44 pm Good effort - & incredibly low pulse rate for that route.
A bit 'retentive' but I've started to use an app to record and analyse my eating and exercise and it's already helped my by showing that my diet needed a higher ratio of protein and that I wasn't getting enough iron. If it's of interest;

Nope, it was exactly where I left it, but not only that, nobody had repainted the exterior, cleared up the garden, or fixed the dripping gutter...IslandPink wrote: ↑Sun Mar 25, 2018 12:44 pm Did you find your house had sunk 58ft when you got home, though ?

Did I do that to you! Sorry...
That should go and if it doesn't you might want to look at your position on the bike or to try a different saddle.
Anyway, good luck with the challenge and make sure you stay with it cos it'll do you good. Stopping will be the easy option so discipline and routine.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Now, if we had an AT cycling club on Strava I could give you Kudos, but we don't so will a 'well done' suffice?

Much appreciated. With any luck I'll manage an hour and 15 or so on Friday before I get drawn into more travelling and family stuff.

I achieved a new PB average of 23mph on the spin bike last evening. A good workout that got the stifnness out of my legs after Sunday's ride.
Departed: Mar 26, '18, 05:04PM
Distance: 6.9 mi
Moving Time: 00:17:56
Calories: 235
Avg. Watts: 229
Max Speed: 26.9 mph
Avg. Speed: 23.0 mph
Moving Pace: 00:02:36
Avg. Cadence: 93 rpm
Avg. Heartrate: 128 bpm
I'm wondering if I might manage sub 30mins in a proper outdoor 10mile TT during the summer.
