I took advantage of a rare spell of sunshine and light winds this morning. The roads were quiet, the birds were singing and village church bells were peeling;

I hope you got on OK at the Doc John? Let me guess, lose weight and exercise more - the good thing is that it works - I've found switching to decaf coffee for most of my drinks makes a difference too.

Look after yourself though and take it easy on the exercise bike, I suggest lowering the resistance and spinning a faster cadence (around 90-92) to start.

I seem to remember our Simon (vegi Simon from Bradford) was a keen cyclist, is he too modest to expound on his cycling exploits ? :)

In Essex today,
The 300b's and Horns being listened to, are definitely good for the relaxing.
So should be positive load for the BP.
Looks like Health & Hifi are close related, it's all about the matching.

Just a short loosener this morning, 20miles at 15.9mph, on one of my 'there and back' routes.

Are the rest of the Audio-Talk cycling club indulging in chocolate Easter eggs instead of riding?

I find a couple of mugs of tea does that for me.

No cycling after Friday, but I managed to get in some H.I.T. and strength endurance work , a lot of it on the upper body. Three days of lifting my mum off the sofa onto wheelchair, then wheelchair to stairlift > wheelchair > bathroom & reverse. Four times a day, took me and our carer Helen, and my sister , each time, to do everything ; final burst was helping lift her ( in the wheelchair ) out & over the front door step to the waiting taxi - pretty harsh lower-back work there. She's now back in intermediate care. Bad reaction to anti-biotics we are about 95% certain. One of the hardest weekends of my life.
Hoping for a chance next Saturday to have a lovely slow dawdle through the lanes on the bike in warm sunshine.

Ouch, sorry to hear that Mark. I feel your back pain matey, I had to lift and lug JTS around for 6 weeks earlier on this year due to fitment of her new Bionic foot thingy.

I've had a small sample of that Mark and you have my sympathy and respect; we took Judy's 96 year old mum to the Garden Centre and for a meal on Good Friday, which meant taking her out in the wheelchair (or 'transporter' as she insists on calling it as she's too proud to accept that she needs a wheelchair for anything but very short distances). Even small door thresholds seem to increase in height as you approach them.

I hope your mum gets over the reaction soon.

Lift and lug indeed, I'm sure you showed tenderness, gentleness and endless good humoured patience as you looked after your beloved in her time of need.

Well when I wasn't indulging in refined carbs this Easter, I bonded a little with my mudplugger and got wet....
New steering bearings, regreased and set the wheel bearings and I've been fiddling with my stem (missus....) actually it's a little too high, now.
I can see myself slowly 'customising/ ruining' this cute machine with tourer bars and brake levers for grown ups hands...and it needs a bell of course....

I did a local loop again in an effort to burn off excessive chips n booze intake. For a change I did it on the skip-saved SS'er.

As Bob Marley and Finley Quayle almost sang...."Sun is shining, weather is sweet...makes you wanna move them cycling feets..."

So I did. An 'endurance' ride today a.k.a riding for a long time but not very fast... I set myself a target, ride 30 miles then cross a bridge and Thames Tickle it all the way back home. 61 miles in total.

Cor, it was enjoyable but the last 15 miles were hard work,
