Aaahhhh, Granchester, sweet-times, early days there with my beluvved. Bikes, Picnics, cows that like to say 'hello' and look at yer sarnies, poor levels of Punting and the Pink Fluid (sic) song....aaahhhh!
Lovely write up MrI, and lovely reminiscing for our-Ed. Win-Win!
I remember Bob Marley's lyrics differently too....
"Let's get together to fight this Holy Armagiddyon (One Gear!),
So when the Man comes to the Hill, he'll not 'change done cos theres only (One Gear!).
Have pity on those whose gearsets grow much wider;
There ain't no hiding place from the Father of Bluddy BigHills.
Ta for the bike-fettling prowess comments Andrew, I'm very proud of that bike. My lovely Fixie is a 3rd hand 'Kogswell' frameset, specifically designed for SS/FG. Brooks is a 2nd hand B17 I repaired. That lovely front wheel came from our-(equally lovely) SimonC a few years ago. The Condor headset I 'refurb'd with new bearings, the 'bars are from our-Thomas who found narrow straight bars don't work for him whereas I love 'em. Rear wheel is from the ol' Dawes as is the Chainset and brakes. Sandwich box from Sainsbury's.

Most enjoyable lunchtime reading. Took me to a different place for a while.
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Feel like I've dropped off the back of the peleton now.

Epic messrs. I and B and what super reporting too. Respect. I would have loved to have been there.
I feel like I'm being left behind a bit so have a plan to get back on tomorrow; I've signed up to a local charity bike ride between Taunton and Yeovil. There's a choice of starting in either Taunton or Yeovil, I live in Taunton so have chosen to start in Yeovil.
Cycling to Yeovil for the start and then doing the charity ride back should clock up about 75miles and I'll be home in time for lunch
With that distance planned for tomorrow I get an extra rest day today, just a gentle 10mile loosener in store, so I will get to do some soldering on the new DAC later this morning.
