Next you'll have to get a Strava account and sync your ride data.
I am getting there, albeit a tad slowly....

is there any benefit for me going to strava? everything I seem to be doing looks like it's already on atlas, and I'm unlikely to braek any records at my age, especially in the urban environment......I had a look at strava but nothing jumped out and said 'you need this'..but maybe I'm missing something.
I was being a little tongue in cheek about Strava Ed, you don't really need it. It's the most popular site of its type. I use it because we have an office cycling club set up on it. It does give you more information than the Cateye site if you want to start taking things more seriously, chase personal bests, rank yourself against others, etc.

Also, the seat hurts my pubic bone so some adjustments needed.
Well done Popz.

Its worth experimenting with seat position, angles and height. Once you find the comfy spot you can just enjoy the ride and go miles n miles n miles without and botty bashing.

Keep at it, but stay safe .

I did my usual local fitness loop today, took ScobsWell out this time.

I think I've got it now Ray. I think my problem was I wasn't holding down the mode button for long enough.
this is what I had planned for yesterday before the seat let go:

ok, I'm in. It kept hassling me for health data so I capitulated and then it said 'where's your heart monitor?'....smart bit of kit that, you'd have thought it might first ascertain if I've got a heart monitor......c'est la vie.

Oh poo!

you were just a bit too far away for me to read your expression Ray.......

interestingly atlas says that last journey was 19.16km and strava says it was 18.75km......go figure

Sorry Ed!

All the ride trackers have small variations like that, I've always assumed its down to the vagaries of the different algorithms they use to join up the way points recorded by the GPS - bit of a GIS conundrum perhaps.

I have a Garmin Vivoactive watch and a Garmin edge 520+ and they never agree that well, especially on +/- elevation...

That must be awful!

It's bloody annoying! Now only use the watch for swimming when, strangely, elevation changes aren't that important...

Ed doesn't need Strava. Try RideWithGPS and use your phone...
