Its a long drive
220 miles (approx), nothing for a fit squash player.
I'm going to a funeral in West Yorkshire tomorrow, 180 miles each way. Going early and coming back late.
No sweat, and I'm OLD.
PS When I go to Owston I go via Lincoln and Barnetby le Wold, and that is about 220 miles as well.

Yes. Please take the mothballs out of your pockets before you leave this time and make sure your nurse stays away from Mr The Basspre65 wrote:No sweat, and I'm OLD.

I'll also try to remember to fit a clean pad.

I need to have a valve clearout so I'll be bringing a few to Owston.
2x Japanese 813 with carbon plates. (never used)
2 x 801A (RCA about 50 hours use) Reserved
2 x 6B4G (USA about 100 hrs use) Reserved
4 x Mazda AC/P1 (globe, about 80 hrs use)
2 x Mazda AC/P (globe, never used)
4 x Marconi ML6 (ST shape, white ceramic base, about 100 hrs use)
2 x Cossor 41MTL mesh plate (ST shape about 50 hrs use ) Reserved
2 x Osram 6P25 (about 50 hrs use)
1 x Siemens CCa (Special quality ECC88 about 50 hrs use)
2 x Brimar 6SN7 - black glass ( about 20 hours use)
I'll price these up later, but I won't be asking silly money.
Is there enough interest to bring them? If not I won't take up space in the car with them.

I have an interesting selection of sub-miniature "rocket" pencil valves - good to 1000G some of them (yes, one thousand G). Designed for use in rockets & artillery shells but excellent sonically too - these are the absolute pinnacle of valve technology - the very best military-spec devices... they'll take a 450G impact and not fail Quantities from low 10s to several 100s of each. Make excellent pre-amps, head-fi & small desktop power amps. Also, all these tubes go through a completely ridiculous acceptance test which would destroy any normal valve...

I've got a couple of 5744 in my TDA1541 dac.
Are they classed as nu-vista valves ?
