I'd not be surprised either that 8 cups of tea x 2 sugars per day might have caused you trouble with depression too - it would give me problems, for sure. That amount of caffeine and sugar is sure to knock out a good fraction of you B-vitamins, especially B1 .
You're probably right Mark
I was in a cycle of depression which fueled comfort eating of sweet stuff. This gave a rush of good mood, followed by a slump back into depression, which fueled more comfort eating. That cycle has been broken and I feel quite a bit better for it.

The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.
My loss rate has settled at about 3lbs a week so I guess I'm starting to eat into the real core now. The good thing is that as I'm feeling better I enjoy, and put more into, exercising. Breaking into the 14s is close and will be a major boost.
I've got a guy in the office started now so some daily support and competition is useful. We've put a little spreadsheet together that tracks our weight and BMI. To achieve the recommended BMI of 25 I will need to shed another two stone - I'll be like a racing snake! Scary thing is that before I started my BMI made me obese and I was heading towards morbidly obese.
I'm hoping to stabilise at 3lbs a week or thereabouts, 5lbs is getting there.
The reason I'm dropping a bit faster is due I think, to the big increase in the amount of exercise, I'm getting.
Another stone and a half will get me to 13st and then I'll probably go into maintaining that weight.

This has been a tough week, despite sticking to my regime progress has been slow and there have been temptations a plenty. I expected a rocky patch or two at some point but hope I can get through it quickly.
Yes..I have also had a pretty hairy week.
The new electronic scales we bought, packed in and had to be returned for a new set. The figures were all over the place. At one point I weighed 16st 2lbs
and the wife, who is like a racing snake, weighed 14st 7lbs.
Touch wood the new ones are fine, placed and leveled.
I wouldn't worry about the 2lbs, That is a healthy rate of loss. I'm still at double the loss rate I should be. I've upped the exercise so I'll have to up the calories slightly to compensate.

I've been using the Hairy Bikers books plus an online calorie tracker called "My Fitness pal" and would recommend both these facilitators to all fat bastards who want to do something about the state of their bellies.
Down to earth, hearty food recipes, written by blokes, for blokes. Use Hairy Bikers, keep your calories on track with the app and you've no excuse

I was a bit worried about this last week as I had my office Christmas binge on Wednesday evening but in the end it was fine and I passed a significant milestone too. Anyway, this weeks numbers are;
The downside of all this weight loss is that it is going to start costing money; trousers that used to be tight are now getting the other side of comfortable. Luckily I've kept a couple of pairs of 501s from when I was previously the next size down - could never quite bring myself to give them to a charity shop.
